Dr. Kingsley K. Akinroye

Dr. Kingsley. K Akinroye is a Cardiovascular Health Physician and Executive Director, Nigerian Heart Foundation; Past Vice - President World Heart Federation and Past President, African Epidemiological Association; Past President, African Heart Network and Executive Council member of the Choices International Foundation. He graduated from College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Post- graduate Education at the Royal Post-graduate Medical School Hammersmith Hospital, London and further training in Cardiovascular Epidemiology at the University of Kuopio, and National Public Health Institute, Finland.

He was a Temporary Advisor, World Health Organization on Non – Communicable Disease; and was a member of the World Health Organization Informal Consultation Group on Non-Communicable Disease Experts. He served as Principal Investigator (Nigeria) on several National/International Projects and was a Member of the WHO Mega-Country Health Promotion Network. He is a member of the Technical Report Committee of the Nigerian Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youths. Dr. Akinroye served on the Governing Board of Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta and as Chairman, Osun State Hospitals Management Board.

He has Publications in Peer-review Journals on Hypertension, Physical Activity, Tobacco and Non-Communicable Diseases; in addition to many Conference papers. He was the Honorary Consul, Honorary Consulate of Finland, Lagos and honored in December 2019 by the President of Finland as a Knight First Class of the Order of the Lion of Finland, and 2022 was elected Member, Sigmaxi, The Scientific Research Honor Society U.S.A.
